You would not be the first one to suspect that your pooch has a connection to the ghosts. Actually, ghosts and dogs have been considered throughout history to be linked closely by many cultures.
2 tribes of Mexico called Aztec and Tarascan believed that they would be protected from ghosts by their dogs, who could see ghosts. They also buried their dogs with their dead people thinking that they would even protect them in the afterlife against ghosts. However, Maya people said that a spirit dog would help dead people’s spirits by leading them to paradise. On the other hand, Tarascan people would not haunt the living “spirit dogs” believing that they would find the bodies of the dead people, who had not been buried to protect their souls. Furthermore, people in ancient Greece believed that their souls would meet Cerberus, a 3-headed-dog, after their death, according to the Ancient History Encyclopedia.
Can Dogs See Ghosts?
To be honest, there is no clear answer to this question as there is no evidence connecting paranormal activity and dogs. Even more, there are also many people, who do not believe in ghosts.
Furthermore, dog owners have surely noticed their dogs doing weird acts and even sense in natural disasters like earthquakes or thunderstorms before people. Anyway, it is not evidence that dogs have a connection with ghosts.
